These are full time, immersion English language courses and you will be in class every day; listening to, practising and speaking English. You will also have time to explore and enjoy London with Lexis or independently and even visit other UK cities at the weekends.

The Full-time English course covers

Reading

Reading for gist i.e to understand the general meaning of a text

Reading for specific detail

Understanding different kinds of text e.g. emails, letters, text messages, articles, reports, reviews, instructions

Writing 

Writing different kinds of text e.g. emails, letters, text messages, articles, reports, reviews, instructions

Using the appropriate style / register i.e. formal vs informal language

Organising your text so it is easy to read

Expressing your ideas so that the reader can understand what you want to say

Listening

Listening for gist i.e. to understand the general meaning

Listening for specific detail

Understanding different accents

Understanding meaning according to general intonation and sentence stress

Speaking

Everyday conversation

Talking about various topics e.g. family, interests, work, home, travel and study

Giving presentations

FULL TIME 15 MORNINGS (AM)

Intensive English language courses in small groups designed to improve your English for your career or college/ university studies quickly.

Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 12:45pm
15 hours per week, 3 hours per day, 15 mins break at 11am
Dates: Monday 10th Sept 2018 until Friday 30th August 2019
 


FULL TIME 15 AFTERNOONS (PM)

Intensive English language courses in small groups designed to improve your English for your career or college/ university studies quickly.

Monday to Friday, 2.00pm – 5.15pm
15 hours per week, 3 hours per day, 15 mins break at 3.30pm

Dates: Available from September 2019 until August 2020
 


PRIVATE ENGLISH 1-1 CLASSES

Private English classes just for you so you can focus on learning the things that matter to you most. Book 10, 20, or even 50 plus hours…

Classes will be timetabled between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday
 

Please note: students requiring a visa and only booking private English classes need to book a minimum 15 hours per week private English classes.



This course runs during half terms:

Course Objectives

The course objectives depend very much on the student's level.

Elementary
To understand basic instructions and phrases used in specific contexts. To exchange simple information by using basic vocabulary and producing incomplete sentences, lacking real grammatical content. He/she can write basic sentences and understands expressions related to relevant topics.
- 1-2 A1
Pre Intermediate
To read and write very simple texts and successfully hold a basic conversation about matters which are of personal interest or familiar. To get the general gist of what is being said.
KET 3 A2
Intermediate
To be able to interact quite spontaneously, however with some inaccuracies in the use of vocabulary and grammar. Will understand the main points of a complex text.
PET 4 B1
Upper Intermediate
To have a sufficient knowledge of the language in order to understand and respond in most every day and working contexts with native speakers, though with some errors
FCE 5-6 B2
Advanced
To have a high level of understanding, including most idiomatic expressions, allowing for interaction in a wide variety of social, professional and academic contexts and the production of extended and complex discourse.
CAE 6-7 C1
Proficiency
To have an almost perfect mastery of the language both in terms of understanding and production, due to having spent considerable time in a country where English is spoken as a native language. To have knowledge of the language and its systems which is equal to and in some cases exceeds that of native speakers.
